Why Learn English? Is it Important? For What?

Assalamu’alaikum WR.WB.

Respectable of the teachers

And all my beloved friends

            My name is Pinky Nur Azizah. I am from class X MIA 4.

            First of all, let us give thanks to our God who has given us many mercy and blessing, so we can join in this program without any troubles. And I do not forget to the chairman who has given me a little time to speak in front of you by the title is Why Learn English? Is it Important? For What?

            Learning English could be hard for some people. Maybe they thought that English is not important. Maybe they think, what can I do if I learn English? Oh, please don’t be negative thinking firstly. We could learning any language, especially English. We could make English as our 2^nd language. Why not? English. Important or not? What would we got if we learn English? OK, let’s check it more spesificly.

            Why learn English? Don’t you know that English is an international language? According to it, that is the first explanation why we have to learn English. So, we can communicate to people from another country. Is it important? Of course it really important! For example, if you want to be a singer, you have to use English if you doing World Tour. It is no problem if you don’t understand the language of the country you have visited, but you have to use English as your language. For what? If you ask me like that, of course English is for improve our skill in speaking. Don’t you know, almost of human in this world thought that the best speaking skill is if you could speaks English very well firstly, then you can learn the other. So, still think that English is just a study at school? No, you could improve more for your English skill. Come on, let’s make our English more better from right now. Remember, English was used everywhere, maybe anytime. Still think that English is not really important? Let change your mind right now! You don’t want to be the worstest for English, right?

To improve your English, you could try to listening firstly. Before go to sleep, put your earphone into your ears, then choose one or maybe some of your favourite English song. Listen to the lyrich very carefuly, not at the melody. After you awake in the morning, try to remember all of the pronunciation, search for the word that you don’t know the meaning.

After listening, try to spoke anything you want to say, of course in English. If you too embarased to said it in front audience, you can said it in front of a mirror firstly, then try to spoke it in front of your family, after all try to spoke in front of your best friend then your friends. So, you have a time to train your conversation.

Then you could try to train your reading and writing skill. But remember, don’t be too serious with grammar. I think you would be frustrasion if you being too serious.

            The consclusion of my speech is nothing is impossible. If you think you can do it, of course you can. Never thinking “I can’t do this” whenever, especially in English. Like what Shinichi Kudo has said, “The strong one doesn’t win. The one that wins is strong.”
